We live in interesting times. Being a girl who’s interested in activism and politics, I remember wondering where I could ever find news sources that I would trust and find beneficial. I want to be involved, but I didn’t want the mainstream…. Yet, regarding news and articles, let us remember these 3 things:
- Everything is biased : You can probably tell by now that I enjoy writing, writers are out there to give a message. Yes, I too am biased, I have personal opinions and a personality that may cause me to see things a certain way. For example, I believe that women should be feminine, I am biased by my beliefs and I’m sharing them here on this blog. In the same way, news sources have an agenda to share their beliefs…. there’s all sorts of ‘beliefs’ out there. Be careful who is influencing you.
- Why are you on the news??? News can be just a bunch of drama, and is infamous for just revealing the bad in this world. I follow news strictly for politics and take a glance at the financial national post every now and then. It’s a way for me to gain insight as to priorities and what I can do as responsible citizen and a Christian. Nevertheless, let’s not utilize this tool for drama.
P.S On that last one, I guess I also use it to be aware of petitions and such; they are a small way for me to contribute. I want to be aware of what my government is doing, and see it as my responsibility to let them know when they are doing something that is wrong. That is one of the blessings of being in a parliamentary democracy. 😉
3. Disclaimer- Some of the content and ideas given from these sources do not correspond with my beliefs and views. This is something that requires a lot of discernment.
To the point however, here are a few sources I find helpful.
Action4Canada Yes, this is Canadian. It is one of my new favourites! They are committed to protecting ‘Faith, Family and Freedom’. They say ‘Our mission is to protect Canada’s rich heritage which is founded on Judeo-Christian principles….Through Call To ACTION campaigns, we equip citizens to take action…. Giving Canadians the freedom to believe, or not to believe, without fear of persecution.” They’ve got good stuff- check them out! 🙂
I had been following Citizen Go for a while, signing petitions and thankful for their updates & advocating for families and freedom for people all around the world. I especially enjoyed their Christian perspective, since then they’ve establish ifamnews.com; I don’t follow this very much as I’m good with their Citizen Go updates, but if your interested in more, you may find this site helpful.
A little note for this one, only members can watch the video… I like to listen to it on Spotify, it’s more time effective anyhow and makes chores interesting 🙂 This show will give you lot’s to think about, I also enjoy listening to Matt Walsh on the Daily Wire, his podcast is also on Spotify. They consider themselves the ‘largest conservative news site in America’. * This is a good one for the topic of the Coronavirus (esp. for the United States). *
Brittney Sellner is an activist and writer who’s content on Youtube has been a challenge to those who follow her. I find that Brittney and I have many similar views though I’ve certainly not watched all her videos (some are irrelevant to me and unnecessary). She speaks primarily on topics of femininity and politics.
Rebel News for Canadians. This one is fairly new to me, so tread with caution. I never subscribed to them but viola! I had their info coming in and I was actually enjoying it (at least… the articles I received) I think it’s worth checking out. I appreciate that they are willing to call things into question and bring forward issues so that citizens can be involved and know what is actually happening.
Well, that’s all for now. I thought I had more, but I suppose those others were due to being a member of political parties and pro-life associations. Which is entirely worth it as well 🙂
God Bless you all,
